About the DivineCommunity.com
The original founders of this website are three men from the Vancouver area: Cage, Ken Gijssen & Martyn Williams. We originally formed the site to support our efforts to bring Swami Nithyananda to Vancouver. For the first two years of it's operation, this website was used primarily for communicating about Swamiji's events on the west coast of Canada and the US, but all the while, Cage had hoped to eventually use the domain as a meeting place for spiritual seekers looking for information about upcoming local events. Out of respect for Swamiji, the mailing list which even from the beginning allowed people to "opt-in" to learn about west coast events by other teachers, was only used for communicating about Swami Nithayananda's events until the new Life Bliss Org website took over this function for Swamiji's devotees globally.
Ken and Martyn have since gone on to other activities and are both heavily involved in Swami Nithyananda's North American devotee communities, I (Cage) originally registered "divinecommunity.com" and have begun investing time and energy into it's original conception as a general meeting place for spiritual aspirants in Vancouver (and surrounding areas).
The Domino Theory
During my time with Swamij Nithyananda from April to October in 2005, I was introduced by a friend to the spiritual teachings of Adi Da Samraj. I was given a copy of a taped talk by Adi Da from 1974 (then known as Bubba Free John) and almost immediately I knew I had found my ultimate teacher in a long line of teachers and teachings. I listened to this talk and many others I soon got my hands on almost constantly for months. Today, Adi Da is my Guru. His teachings have completely transformed every aspect of my life and for the first time I feel an absolute certainty that I have found the Truth with a capital "T".
However, while Adi Da is the final stop on my journey to find a teacher, teachings and the Truth, I could not possibly have been able to recognize Him, or understand His teachings, or be profoundly confirmed in my certainty that He is my spiritual Master if there had not been a lineage of teachers and teachings that led me to Him. I see this lineage metaphorically as a line of dominos, each one needing the previous domino to be perfectly in place in order for the final domino to fall.
In my stream of dominos there have been Christian teachings, the writings of Milton, Zen Buddhism, Kabalarian Numerology, Existentialists from Kierkegaard to Camus, the movie Groundhog Day, Deepak Chopra, several personal growth workshops and teachers, Swami Muktananda and Siddha Yoga, Bhagawan Nityananda, Swami Nithynananda and finally Adi Da Samraj. Naturally, there have been countless other "dominos" that have brought me to the the "final" place where my spiritual journey was ready to really begin.
The Real Purpose of this Site
While I am a devotee of Adi Da Samraj and will no doubt present offers on this site occasionally to introduce people to His profound teachings, this site is not purposed to communicate about Adi Da. I believe that everyone's unique destiny in this and each lifetime requires that all the dominos fall in place for them. So that is the real purpose of this site. To hopefully be a piece of the Divine machinery that introduces the appropriate teachers and teachings to the appropriate people at the time when they need the next domino to fall.
The idea of attracting "advertisers" who will give away their "products" for free instead of paying to advertise with us, is just the modern mechanism I hope will allow the most dominos possible to be dropped in place for the most people possible.
So if you are a spiritual seeker interested in understanding this great Mystery of life, please sign up to the mailing list and keep an open mind when we email offers to learn from new teachers. Swami Nithyananda often says, "Going from Master to Master is not wrong, but not learning from any Master is what is wrong! I always tell people to go to many gardens, pluck flowers and make a beautiful garland."
If you are a spiritual teacher interested in reaching a open audience, see our network section to determine if our community might fit your needs.
